Specialized Youth Services of Virginia, Inc. was established in 1991 to provide educational and treatment services to ED/LD and other at-risk children who cannot be successfully served through their local schools or other public service agencies.

Specialized Youth Services provides a continuum of community based services to include special education day schools, in-home counseling, and day treatment services.

It is the mission of Specialized Youth Services of Virginia, Inc.  to strengthen and empower children, youth and families to realize their fullest potential.  Our goal is to help youth develop their capacity to reach their goals and to become self-sufficient, contributing members of their communities.

 

 
Philosophy

 

Specialized Youth Services of Virginia, Inc. believes the greatest way to foster a youth’s development is to provide an environment that is safe and secure and recognizes their personal strengths.  We believe that when the youth’s basic needs are consistently met and their strengths are recognized and nurtured, the youth will be able to learn new skills to cope with the challenges that brought the youth/their family in for services.
