Day Treatment

This program provides Day Treatment for children and adolescents ages 8-18. The after school program runs from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm Monday - Friday and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for eight weeks during the summer. Staff work with clients on age appropriate education regarding medications they are receiving, individualized service planning, group social skills, individual and group therapy and community reintegration. Individual therapy takes place twice a month for each child and focuses on personal issues, school issues, family issues and other concerns. Group therapy consists of anger management, peer interaction, character development, self-esteem, conflict resolution and goal setting. Activities for the Day Treatment program may include but are not limited to painting, drawing, building, crafting, sports and participation in community activities such as bowling, hiking, miniature golf, gym activities and other recreational programs as available. Transportation is provided for all participants. Parents are updated regularly on progress and concerns of their child with monthly progress reports mailed to the guardians. Parent support services are available to all parents interested in increasing family awareness and acceptance of their child's disability as well as in ways to adapt and cope with conflict.
