Guidance Day Treatment |
This program provides Day Treatment for children and adolescents ages
8-18. The after school program runs from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm Monday -
Friday and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for eight weeks during the summer.
Staff work with clients on age appropriate education regarding
medications they are receiving, individualized service planning, group
social skills, individual and group therapy and community
reintegration. Individual therapy takes place twice a month for each
child and focuses on personal issues, school issues, family issues and
other concerns. Group therapy consists of anger management, peer
interaction, character development, self-esteem, conflict resolution
and goal setting. Activities for the Day Treatment program may include
but are not limited to painting, drawing, building, crafting, sports
and participation in community activities such as bowling, hiking,
miniature golf, gym activities and other recreational programs as
available. Transportation is provided for all participants. Parents
are updated regularly on progress and concerns of their child with
monthly progress reports mailed to the guardians. Parent support
services are available to all parents interested in increasing family
awareness and acceptance of their child's disability as well as in
ways to adapt and cope with conflict. |
