Child and Family
Guidance In-Home Counseling |
This program provides focused support for children and adolescents,
age 5-18, at risk of removal from their homes and communities due to
serious emotional and behavioral problems, or those being reintegrated
to their homes. This is accomplished through systemic solution-
focused interventions designed to enhance competence and ignite
courage in those we serve. Child and Family Guidance (CFG) staff
strive to achieve second order changes, creating systemic shifts
necessary for children and families to experience new ways of behaving
and communicating, and by doing so, move towards what they truly want.
Recognizing that behaviors are merely strategies for getting needs
met, staff are able to redirect maladaptive defeating behaviors into
positive channels for growth.
Services begin with a comprehensive assessment process designed
to highlight and leverage strengths and influences inherent in each
family's environment.
Treatment services include:
- Comprehensive Multi-systemic Eco-Systemic Assessment Process -
This includes family system, eco-system and individual factors
that provide information necessary to develop a treatment plan.
- Eco-Systemic Intensive In-Home Family Therapy - Solution
focused, structural and strategic family therapy to refocus on the
multiple systems surrounding children and their families.
- Twenty-four Hour Emergency Response Crisis Intervention - All
services are accessible by pager or cell phone as necessary.
- Discharge and Follow-Up Services - Discharge summaries with
prescribed plans for each child and family along with linkages to
relevant community resources are provided as well as an aftercare
plan. Outcome follow-up at 6 months and one year post-discharge
are provided at no cost to the referring agency.
