Blandford Manor
Blandford Manor, located in Petersburg, VA., provides a transitional residential treatment program for adolescent males, ages 12-17, with full education and clinical services including special education, phychiatric assesment, medication management and individual, group and family therapy in a small (12 bed) structured environment. (CORE licensed by DMHMRSAS and DOE, accredited by VAISEF)
Cameron House
Cameron House, located in Petersburg, VA., is a therapeutic group home which provides case management services, educational support, recreational enhancement and life skills training in a structured home-styled environment for adolescent males ages 15-21 who have emotional, academic, behavioral or family problems. The program promotes independent living skills, employment opportunity, civic responsibility and community involvement. (Licensed by DMHMRSAS)
Program Objectives
- Develop behaviors which enable residents to live, learn, work and play cooperatively with others.
- Evaluate and engage the resident in an educational program which meets his individual needs and establish goals which become the daily focus for learning and interacting with others.
- Involve community resources in the program in order to return the resident to a less intense level of care as soon as he is ready.
- Involve the family in support services to build skills which assist the resident and his family when the time comes to return home.
- Explore with residents vocational opportunities and assist in job placement when age and behavior permits.
Directions/Location
SYSVA is located in Petersburg, VA at 230 S. Crater Road. From I-95 take the Washington/Wythe Street exit, #52. Follow the Wythe Street ramp. Follow Wythe Street 1/4 mile to the Crater Road intersection. Turn right on Crater Road and continue 1/5 mile to Blandford Manor and Cameron House on the right.
Funding
Referrals to Blandford Manor or Cameron House can be made through local Family Assessment and Planning Teams (FAPT) for review under the Comprehensive Services Act. The SYSVA Residential Services programs do NOT receive payment from private insurance carriers, Medicaid or CHAMPUS.
